Well its only my opinion, but then again this is my website ;)
So when I was young:
Famous 5 - Enid Blyton
Doctor Who - I used to lose myself in many a Dr adventure!
But seriously now..
Perfume - Patrik Suskind, what a great story to delve into, this kept me gripped ( except for the solitude bit), a must read.
What is the What - Dave Eccers. This will make you think, weep and then think again.
To Kill a Mocking Bird - Harper Lee. I read this firts time at school, then again in my 20's then again in my 30s - just gets better. And one of the few with a film adaptation to match
The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco- wow, just open your mind and be transported back hundreds of years. You can taste the atmosphere. My old flat mate in Barcelona, put me onto Eco, she used to work for him- I wasn't disappointed.
The Alan Clark Diaries - What a man, a whole barrel of contradictions, all in the backdrop of great political intrigue.
Berlin and Stalingrad - Antony Beevor - The cruelty of war put so intensly I couln't put them down, sided didn't matter this is pittiful.
I'll come back to this
